HARMONIC FILTERS

More and more customers are expressing their concern about the increasing frequency of production stoppages due to unexpected surges in their intallations electrical protections (usually residual current switches and even circuit breakers).

These unscheduled shutdowns entail extremely high costs due to the opportunity costs of having a production line stopped, plus the costs of human resources used to restart the facility, or, for example, product discarded due to the production interruption.

These untimely trips are usually due to the presence of dreaded harmonics: high-frequency electrical signals superimposed on the supply voltage, with low RMS values but very high peaks. These harmonics are generated by electronic equipment, which is increasingly present in automated industrial installations, such as power supplies, variable frequency drives, servomotors, rectifiers, and so on.

There are clear solutions for absorbing these high-frequency electrical signals, and these solutions include filtering equipment, both passive and active, the latter being more recommended for their intelligence and adaptability.
