ASSET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM – EAM

The Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system is standardised in ISO 55000:2014. Defined as ‘An asset is something that has potential or actual value to an organisation. The value may vary between different organisations and their stakeholders and may be tangible or intangible, financial’.

This EAM system sets the guidelines for extracting value from all your assets, be they whereasphysical, human, financial, information or intangible.

The approach offered by the EAM system translates into an improvement in the integral maintenance of the plant. The traditional maintenance system is that which is achieved with CMMS’s focused on strategies to maintain assets in the desired state, limited to the management of maintenance, inventories and purchases.

Meanwhile, implementing the EAM methodology goes beyond CMMS, whose objective, besides maintaining the objectives in the desired state, is to achieve the optimum performance of the assets from their start-up to their retirement, minimising the costs associated with their entire useful life. Therefore, the functionalities of EAM also include aspects such as life cycle management, project management, HSE management, change management, commissioning, TPM, CBM, etc.

The specific software that we can implement as an EAM system are IFS Ultimo and LIMBLE from Schneider.

These softwares are characterised by their adaptability and ease of integration with third-party ERP systems and adaptation of modules according to the requirements of the real needs of the plant.

IFS Ultimo: is a scalable system prepared for optimal integrated asset lifecycle management. It has special modules such as HSE and LOTO. Being in the Microsoft Azure cloud, it also allows great savings in the implementation.
