SOFTWARE HISTORIZATION

AVEVA HISTORIAN is the Aveva solution used for the storage of the huge amount of data obtained from current industrial facilities.

It is a secure database for Big Data, with high-speed, high-performance data access, compressing data by more than 90% compared to traditional databases such as Microsoft SQL Server database. This means less storage space is required on servers, as well as faster access to stored information.

This database is optimised so that the stored data is not stored directly in Microsoft SQL Server tables, but rather transfers optimised blocks with which highly efficient data compression and storage is achieved, eliminating the need to delete data as it grows.

It has a wide range of options for information visualisation and exploitation tools, such as through a specific Trend application, through web access via AVEVA Historian Client Web, via report generation for example through Dream Report, through access via SQL queries executed in a standard SQL client, or through a Microsoft Excel add-in.

It has a multi-level architecture, where complete data or selected data can be sent to other historians at a higher level. Definitely, Historian can be configured with a cascading (or tiered) architecture so that data from smaller Historians can be aggregated to higher-level Historian. Data at remote locations can be easily aggregated in a central Historian and in the unified control centre (UOC).
